Photographing:
1.) Today I didn’t really do much. I did go out in the yard and photograph a little bit. I used my Minolta X-300 and started shooting Kodak UltraMax 400. I didn’t finish the roll. Wednesday 4th March 2026
Photographing and editing:
1.) Today I went shooting again but this time in Ottery. Once I got home I started editing the images and I did quite a lot. 2.) My Uncle came round because there is somebody he knows who is selling off a lot of his camera gear. I had a look through the list and I think tomorrow I'll start writing out what I would like. Thursday 5th March 2026
New gear incoming:
1.) Today I edited some of the images from Ottery and I've gone through quite a lot. I also shot some more of the UltraMax 400 but again, I still haven’t finished it. 2.) I have made up my mind about what I would like from that Photography list. There are quite a lot of filters that I am interested in, along with some lenses, accessories and a new camera. The camera listed is pretty cool because it has been altered to shoot infrared images. Hopefully nobody else buys that before me because If I can purchase it then I'll be able to gain a lot more skills and learn new things by using it. 3.) I was able to get my hands on the ear in the end. The gear included diffusers and reflectors. Monopods, tripods, Nikon lenses, Lumix lenses, an Olympus 700 digital camera, an infrared converted Panasonic Lumix G1, a Lumix G2, a whole box full of filters of various different filter thread sizes, flash units, camera rain covers, camera bags of various sizes along with protective lens pushes and a filter pouch. I am excited to try all of this out. Friday 6th March 2026
Cleaning cameras and taking some test photos:
1.) Today I didn’t really do anything. I mainly spent the day cleaning gear and taking test photos with the Infrared converted Lumix G1. Sadly the battery died before I could really test it. Later on I'll put the battery on charge. 2.) A lens adapter is on it’s way to me. I needed an adapter to use Nikon lenses on my X-S10 as in the gear I found was a few good Nikon Lenses. I’m interested in the 60mm macro lens so that will be nice to try out along with the macro flash. I will also start a new project involving infrared photography. In the future I may get the camera converted to full spectrum as right now it is only converted to infrared. By having it be full spectrum, it would open up even more to me as full spectrum captures all light including infrared. Infrared makes trees and plant life look ghostly white however if it was full spectrum and I used different filters I could create different effects such as pink or red trees and strange foliage. I have also attempted to charge the battery however for some reason it is not charging. I still have some gear to pick up and I believe some types of chargers will be included. I’m hoping I'll actually be able to charge the battery however I am a bit worried. 3.) As it turns out there was something wrong with the charger. I have know idea what happened but a pice broke off the plug. For some reason theres a pice stu k inside of the wall socket but the funny thing is that I tried the plug in both sockets. the first socket was in the kitchen, it would not work so then I tried it in the dining room socket and it still did not work. I had a closer look at the plug and there was something missing. I used a different plug and now it’s working. 4.) I think I may get some more lens filter bags because I have so many and then maybe a set of adapters. Adapter would be good because let’s say all my filters are 70mm thread size but my lenses are 49mm thread size, I can use an adapter to be able to use that 70mm filter on my smaller lens. Again, I think I need some cases for my filters and then I could seperate the filters either by thread size or by type of filter. For example all polarising filters in one place, all ND filters in one place, all coloured filters in one place etc. That would save a lot of space and then my filters are organised so I don’t have to always go digging through a box just o find what I need. 5.) I’ve started adding new pages dedicated to the Lumix G1 camera and Infrared Photography. Although they are not up yet because I haven’t really started it yet, I think it could be interesting going forward. As the camera is not full spectrum it would make more sense to do B&W with this camera although I will have to think about that first. Saturday 7th March 2026
Cleaning camera gear:
1.) Today I went through the box of filters and started cleaning them. I probably went through around a whole box of lens wipes so I'll need to get some more soon. 2.) I went out for dinner and so when I got back I didn’t have much time but I continued cleaning and then also editing some images. 3.) My lens adapter came so now I'll be able to use Nikon lenses on my Fujifilm X-S10. Unfortunate there are some limitations such as no autofocus and for macro photography you really need good autofocus. I tried a little bit but it is incredibly difficult using it handheld so I may need to get a Nikon camera at some point. I am looking at the Nikon D-850 which should suffice. 4.) I added my first set of infrared images to their respective pages however they are not up and online as of yet and so when they are, I will share them. I have decided to organise them by month. Once it’s April, I can post the March images. Once it’s May I can then post the April images etc. I think will be leaning more into B&W than colour. Sunday 8th March 2026
No work done today:
1.) Today was my Dad’s birthday and so I wasn’t online much. We went out for lunch and then some family came round for dinner but in-between that I tried doing some macro photography. The lighting wasn’t very good though and so I didn’t get any good images because I had to use long exposures. I guess I could have used a tripod but maybe next time.
1.) I thought I would rectify my mistake. As of writing this it is actually Monday 9th and I realised I made a mistake. I didn’t get round to doing much on the 8th. I think I just went around the yard doing some macro photography. Well that’s all for now. Thank you!
