If you’re in South Korea, specifically Seoul and you are into analogue photography, then I highly recommend you go check out Camera Work. You can purchase cameras and you can even rent cameras. They have a good selection of both Instax film and Polaroid film so no matter which format of instant photography you prefer, then know that they have a good selection of film. They even have Polaroid SX-70 film which I was surprised by when I saw it. Not many physical places still sell that kind of Polaroid film. Or if you’re more into 35mm then you’re in luck because they have a wide variety to choose from so you won’t be without film while you’re here. If you have film you’ve purchased off them or film you bought to South Korea with you? Well they can develop it no problem. You get high quality scans and they do a great job developing your film. They also cut and sleeve your negatives for you so if you’re gonna be here for a while, then you won’t get dust all over your precious memories. The staff are very welcoming and kind. I didn’t have a problem speaking English to them as their English was either very good or we both used a translation application so don’t worry about not being able to communicate. I really recommend Camera Work and I promise you that you won’t regret it! Formerly a standalone store outside Lotte World, Camera Work now operates as a curated corner inside 291 Photographs, a large photography hub in the Lotte Department Store Avenuel World Tower. Visitors can explore vintage cameras, film gear, photo books, and exhibitions all in one place.

If you’re in Exeter and need basic developing done such as c-41 colour negative and black and white negative film, then you could always visit Snappy Snaps. They’re not perfect but they’re not bad either. They are a basic high street developer who always prints images, takes passport photos, sells basic frames and phot albums etc. They usually have some Kodak Gold or Kodak UltraMax for sale there but sadly they do not have a bigger collection of film. They can develop 35mm and 120 Medium Format film in both colour and black and white. They can also scan your film but I won’t lie to you when I say I am disappointed. When dropping off black and white I would have to wait a week because from the sounds of it they like to develop all black and white around the same time. You can’t really ask them todo it quicker because they have to wait for everybody else to drop theirs in. It wouldn’t be so terrible except for the fact that I dropped off around 3 rolls of colour film and 1 roll of black and white. The colour film would be done by the next day, a few times it’s been done within a few hours but the 1 roll of black and white? well I had to wait a week for that. Development with Snappy Snaps can be on the expensive side. Around $8 - $20 per roll of 35mm black and white film and that’s without scans, just the price for development only. with scans it is around another $5 per roll but the quality you get is not worth it at all in my opinion. I went in and asked if they were able to provide me with the highest quality scans that they can give me and the lady told me there already send the highest quality. I was a bit annoyed because when looking at the scans they give me, they are highly pixelated and they are around 2-4mb jpegs. Because of this I went straight online and bought myself a flatbed scanner. Now I scan my negatives as 160mb tiff files and I’m much happier. I will continue to use Snappy Snaps however it will be less and less. I found a new lab based in Bristol but I’ll get to them in a minute. All in all, do not let this put you off sending your films into Snappy Snaps. Depending on the films at hand, they will provide a speedy and reliable developmental service

If you’re in Exeter make sure you take a visit to London Camera Exchange. They specialise in high end modern DSLR’S and Mirroless cameras along with lenses and other photography gear from tripods and camera accessories, however some of the time they do have analogue gear for sale too from Instax and Polaroid, to 35mm and 120 Medium Format and everything in-between. They have a great selection of films to choose from as well. I will say they don’t have even kind of film. You may struggle to find Polaroid Go and Slide film for example. You can however order beforehand and they should be able to get it in no problem. Do you have cameras and other gear to sell? Well no Problem as they guys at London Camera Exchange may be able to take it off your hands. The staff are very friendly and supportive. They will help you if you are in need of some help or if you have any problems you can always ask. I don’t purchase much gear from them but when I do, I believe they supply a warranty which is important when buying camera gear.
