Post-Developing Thoughts
This was only a test roll really, but before I get onI shot this roll at home, in Taunton, in Exeter and in Seaton. In my notes above I forgot to mention I photographed inSeaton, but I shot this roll there as well. Now let's get onto this roll because I have a lot to say. This was only really a test roll. I had found a new camera on eBay called the Ricoh Mirai. I was able to purchase it for pretty much a fiver and it was with the case as well! What drew me to the camera was the aesthetic. Made by Ricoh in Japan, "Mirai" mens future. I really enjoy games like Cyberpunk 2077 and this camera looks like something from that video game. It is an interesting camera because it doesn't look like a regular camera. It is technically a point and shoot SLR with some manual capabilities.Looking back at these images, I would say that the Ricoh Mirai is a very capable film camera. I really enjoy shooting Portra nowadays and I enjoyed developing it even though it was a bit exhausting and with some things that went wrong. In my developing notes above I mentioned seeing marks on the film. If you look closely at some of the images you may be able to see them. There are other much more obvious marks in which I'm not too sure what the cause was. The first frame was my mistake though because I accidentally cut the negatives wrong (which I will not be doing again I sure you) but there are other less noticeable marks which I believe were caused by improper drying. As for the colours well there are not really any colour casts. I was worried about getting bad colour casts. You can achieve those by developing at the wrong tempertatures. Now this is my first time and I have a lot to learn but I think I did everything correctly right? I really like how these images turned out and I am excited to develop my next roll. I think I’ll be using this camera more often in the future. Sometimes it’s nice to just have some fun and use whacky looking cameras and not worry too much. Above you will find my notes in order. Please bear with me on these because my hand writing is not the best and I am very sorry if it is difficult to read. In the future I will try to improve my hand writing or at least write them in a cleaner way.
