Post-Developing Thoughts
This was an interesting roll because not only did it take me a long time to finish but I also didn't really go out anywhere either. I shot this roll in two locations which were at Home and in Axminster. The reason for not going anywhere was the weather. On a good day it was cold and grey and on a bad day it was pouring down with rain. On the days I shot these images, the conditions were okay. Another reason for not really going anywhere was because everyone was just too busy and we simply just didn't go anywhere log enough to spend time taking photos. As you can see from my notes, I developed this roll at home. I developed it the day after finishing the roll. For the Axminster part of this roll, I was asked to take some photos however I didn't’t realise this until the day of the shooting and so I didn’t really have much film. After this I did shoot a roll of B&W film as I didn’t bring any colour film with me. I also had trouble in rewinding the film but I am hoping the images turn out okay. I think next week I may return to the location and take more photos for them but with colour film. probably an 800 speed film as the majority of the shots need to be inside and in a place where lighting isn’t the best.Developing went smoothly however I did run into some problems which you can see from my notes. One thing I didn’t mention is after scanning I have some marks. At first I thought they were water stains however I think it is an issue in scanning. It looks like Digital ICE (software that removes dust and hairs) is playing up and removing parts of the images it shouldn’t be. Time is an issue and so I didn’t really go back and rescan without the Digital ICE. To be honest, I had many problems in scanning and editing this roll. For starters, it scanned the images out of order and so I had to spend a lot of time reordering the images. After editing I also somehow deleted then photos from Lightroom or Lightroom deleted them itself and so I had to go back and re-edit every single images from the entire roll.As for shooting, I also had some problems. The problem was mainly with the exposure. My metering was off and so the images were either slightly underexposed or slightly overexposed. Apart from this, I am very happy with these images. I like the colours and I haven’t shot UltraMax 400 in quite a while ad so it was nice to use this film stock again.
