The images below were shot on the Olympus 35DC (roll 3).

I will speak more about my experience down below…

KODAK PORTRA 400

Since the last roll, I had decided that I really wanted to dive into 35mm film even further. I wasn’t sure what sort of camera I would need as I was really just starting out. Since I shot with the Olympus 35DC previously and I liked the experience, I decided the best camera for me would be an Olympus 35DC. I went looking online for any camera shops and I stupidly decided the best place to go is an hours walk away from my hotel. I couldn’t be bothered getting the subway and I couldn’t be bothered ordering a taxi so I decided to walk it. It was definitely more than an hour…
I should have ordered a taxi becuase it was a very difficult walk. Luckily I had arrived. I found the camera shop and I purchased the Olympus. I was very happy because I was going to meet someone I met online snd I would get to use it then. This time I got a taxi. Later on, I met her and we both went to hire a Hanbok. Hanbok is the traditional Korean attire. I watch a lot of K-Dramas and so the King’s Hanbok is the one that caught my eye. In South Korea, when you rent a hanbok you usually get to visit the palaces for free so that’s what we did.
We spent a few hours walking around the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace is where the king use to live. It was a very interesting and fun cultural experience. It makes you feel like you have been transported back in time to the Joseon Dynasty. A group of students and their teacher on a high-school trip asked me if they could take some photos with them so I obliged. It got quite dark rather quickly and so we departed. At this point I was at the end of my roll of film. I had only used the Olympus once and made the grave error of winding the film the wrong way. I then decided to force it. I’m not sure why I decided to do that. It even has an arrow on the camera to say which way to wind it.
I was very anxious because I only had the next day available before I was heading to Seoul. Luckily my friend said she could take it off my hands and deliver the camera to the same store I purchased it from. I was seeing her again the next evening and so I could pick it up then. After leaving the palace, we changed back into our normal clothes and went to get some Korean BBQ. This was my first time trying it and I was not disappointed. It was absolutely delicious. The amount of side dishes they give you for two people is enough for a party of ten. They had a whole big bowl of stew and a whole big bowl of cold noodles as just two side dishes. there were side dishes upon side dishes. It was a very delicious and a very tasty meal.
All in all, I ruined half of this roll. They came out very underexposed, I think because I used an ND filter and the lighting wasn’t ideal in the first place. I also managed to ruin half the roll because of my stupidity in trying to wind the film. It seems in my error, I had ripped the film and so a lot got exposed to the light when trying to fix the original issue in the first place. These Images were the good ones of the roll.

Me dressed in the Korean King’s Hanbok that my friend shot. It was taken on my Olympus 35DC
