Cinestill 400D
The images below were shot on the Yashica Mat 124G (roll 66).
I will speak more about my experience down below…
I mentioned in a previous page that I ruined the images from Botallack but after looking at these I have found that it isn't completely true. After finishing the roll of Fomapan I loaded my Yashica up if a roll of Cinestill 400D and continued shooting. I am vey happy with hoe the images from Botallack came out. Afterwards we headed to Falmouth where I finished the roll. I also visited the film store again and I got this roll and my previous rolls developed. I'd say they did a good job and I may think about going back there again the next time that I am in Cornwall. I will say that I started getting some light leaks, mainly within the first couple of frames. I’m not sure if it is the camera or not but something leads me to believe hat this is not the issue. I think the issue is how I am loading the film. I would have to hazard a guess that if it was a camera issue then it would be the same throughout the entire roll so this may just be another case of human error. Now let’s talk about the film stock. There is a lot of talk online about whether this is actually repacked Kodak Vison 250D but without the rem-jet layer but many sources state online that this is not the case. I mean, you think that it may well be repackaged 250D considering Cinestill is a company that takes motion picture films and sells them without the added rem-jet layer. I’m not too sure what film stock this actually is.This is what Cinestill themselves has to say about this;
“CineStill 400D is specifically designed for still photography. We worked exclusively with our manufacturing partners around the world to roll components found in many different films into one. This new film is based on advanced technology found in motion picture emulsions, and at the same time delivers features exclusive to still photography materials in both unexposed and processed states.”

It isn’t really clear what film stock this is but at the end of the day it delivers good enough results. I mean I find the images okay enough. It's nit kink I hate them but I think I need to experiment with it again but this time in the summer r when its sunnier because I have found that this time of year I prefer things shot in Black and White over Colour.
