Fomapan 400

The images below were shot on the Pentax Espio 738S (roll 65).

All of the images that are above were shot in Porthleven, Darracott, Swanpool Beach and St. Ives. I am very happy with how these turned out. For christmas I received a bulk loader and a bulk roll of Fomapan 400 which I was really very happy about and I decided to roll some film before the trip. This was one of the rolls. I did have a bit of frustration at the beginning because you load in he dark and it took me quite a few hours trying to load the film into the bulk loader correctly but in the end I managed it. The frustrations mainly came from bad tutorials and user error and not any fault of the actual bulk loader itself. In the future I think I will be able to load things more easily.
It was really nice to go back to these locations again, especially St. Ives. Sadly I didn’t take many photos while back in Porthlevan because the weather wasn’t the greatest and I didn’t want torso my cameras getting broken. I am quite. big fan of Fomapan. I think it is a great Black and White film stock and that it delivers the results that I am looking for. With me in Cornwall I bought a few camera. My Yashsica Mat 124G which I used for the previous roll, my Pentax Espio 738S which I used for this roll right here, a Cine Kodak Eight-55 8mm camera, my Minolta X-300 and my Olympus OM-20. I’m not sure how I bought all of these cameras because I didn’t even use the Minolta and looking back now I really dislike using multiple cameras at once.
For this roll I didn’t really want to think much so I wanted to use something with autofocus and automatic exposures and so that is why I used the Pentax. As I said, I like Fomapan 400 and I also do like these images however there is something about them which I dislike. I’m not sure why. I think I'm starting to dislike the Pentax. I have found the images are nit as sharp as what I've seen before. It might just be to do with the film I used but I'm not too sure. All in all I do like these images and I would like to visit these locations again. Especially Swanpool Beach because they have really nice ice creams there.
