Lomo Purple 100-400
The images below were shot on the Yashica Mat 124G (roll 70).
I will speak more about my experience down below…
These images that you see above were taken at Godrevy. I have a lot to say about these so let's get to it. I have absolutely no single idea what happened to these images. One thing I do know is they were heavily underexposed. I haven't cleaned these images up, I haven't removed dust or hairs and I didn't crop them very much really so you can see some of the film border. I've included all 12 exposures because I find this really unique and really rather strange. There were some serious light leas with this roll. I had trouble advancing the roll and I believe the backing paper got jammed up. Is this a fault of my own? Is this a fault with the camera? Is this a fault with the film itself? I have no idea. This didn't happen on my previous rolls a this hasn't happened since. The conditions that I was in were also less than desirable. This is not something you want to see happen when shooting film (although some people like it when they get results like this. I don't have much else really to talk about in regards to this roll and I only hope it doesn't happen again. I do think these are interesting but I wish these weren't the last images of 2026. I am quite annoyed at myself to allow something like this to happen. Still, let me put my frustrations for this aside and say that I am looking forward to how the year ahead will go in terms of Photography and what skills I will learn. Maybe I will shoot Lomo Purple as medium format again in 2026. A part of me wants to but at the end of the day I enjoyed the results I go with this film stock more when shooting it as 35mm.
