29-09-25 - Site Spotlight Weekly

Before I get to what i’ve added or changed in regards to my website, I should say that there are Changes to the SSW Layout:

I’ve decided to change the layout of Site Spotlight Weekly updates. Before, the layout was newest changes right at the top and oldest changes right at the bottom. Because of this, things were confusing to read because you would have seen me talking about a previous change which would have been at the bottom and so you wouldn’t know what i’m talking about until you scroll to the bottom as you haven’t got to read the earlier changes yet. People don’t normally just read from the bottom and then up. You would normally read from the top and then scroll down as you read on.I have since changed the layout of this SSW Update and I am unsure if I will go back and change the previous two. I probably won’t, but going forward I will keep it with this layout.

All changes and updates listed here are from Monday 29th September 2025 - Sunday 5th October 2025!

Monday 29th September 2025

New content and changed to the website:

1.) I’ve started updating my “By Camera” pages with my new and old content that has been missing from them. I haven’t finished this yet but i’ve got a lot of them up to date.

2.) I’ve added some more Polaroids to my 2022 page along with reorganising them in the correct order. I don't have many more Polaroids from 2022 to upload now as the next lot that I upload from 2022 will cover the Christmas period from that year.

You can find the page in the top navigation bar of my website. Hover over Polaroids and then click “All Polaroids”. That will take you to where you need to go. Or you can click the button below which will take you to my 2022 Polaroids.

Roll of film Lost:

In the beginning of July I sent a roll of 35mm film to a Lab to be developed. On the roll were holiday photos from Amberg Germany. I sent it via Royal Mail Tracked however shortly after, I had lost the tracking number. A week went by and I hadn’t received any emails or any notifications from the Lab to say it had been delivered.
Because of this I looked into the lab a little bit more and it seems many people have had problems with the lab in which they also never received any notifications and some people had waited a few months before the Lab responded with scans from their film. They sent emails to them during the wait and never received a response so I thought this was normal. I kind of knew before sending the film however not to this extent. I also had no choice really as this was a special kind of film and the only place in the UK that develops it is this specific Lab. I will not name the Lab for obvious reasons.
I tried my luck anyway and two weeks after mailing my film, I sent them an email asking for any update as to if my film had been delivered. I never received the update. In August I sent another message asking for an update again to which I finally got a reply. They told me that they are experiencing backlog but they also told me that my film is in the queue.
Then on 18th September they sent me another email. This time they said that they had never received my film to begin with. They asked me for the tracking number to which I don’t have as I explained that in two previous emails. I shortly sent them an email telling them this again and asking if there is anything that I can do to also help track it down.
I didn’t receive any update and so I sent a follow up email on the 24th September which brings me to today. Today on the 30th August they sent me an email to explain that there is nothing they can do…
Because of this, my holiday photos are lost, probably forever as it’s been so long there is no way to track it down. I am going to move on from this and not worry about it but I will not be sending them any more film to be developed in the future. I will either send this specific film overseas or develop it myself at home.
Since this has happened I have now removed the “Coming Soon” page that relates to this roll off of my website. What this means is that the numbering is now not adding up but I have fixed it by renumbering all of my films that I shot after the lost film.

Wednesday 1st October 2025

Slow day. I was out however some good things happened:

1.) I didn't really upload anything on this particular day. I was once again out because I needed to take some films in to be developed and when I got home I only really scanned my Films in and edited some Polaroids. While I was out, I did however get some new films and I started shooting with my Olympus 35DC. I haven't shot anything on that camera since the start of the year really. I am overexposing the film by 1 stop and so I am excited to see if my photos will come out well exposed or underexposed as they rally are with that camera.

Frday 3rd October 2025

Slow day. I was out however some important things happened:

1.) Today was another slow day. I was out again as I had to get a new computer chair for my office. My previous one broke a while ago and I have been using a kitchen chair and a substitute. Because of this, my back as been acing and it has been very painful. I finally decided to purchase a new chair. I also purchased some new films as well which is both a mix of polaroid and 35mm Films. The 35mm film will be kept for Christmas time.
I also received some films in the post that I ordered back in July and so I should be getting some negatives back either today or tomorrow. As of writing this it's the evening now and so I expect it will be here tomorrow instead. Royal Mail tracking seems to be going haywire. It keeps saying my film will be arrived before 2:30pm today... it has now gone past 8pm.Today I also bought some films to the lab to be developed and they told me my negatives should be ready to be picked up on Saturday next week.
Now onto the next subject. Recently I made the mistake of deleting some polaroids that were due to be uploaded. They are from 2022 and I had them all ready to upload. Then what happened was I had run out of space on my hard drive which resulted in me trying to find files to delete (files I have no need for anymore) but I may have clicked delete from Mac.
This then in turn, deleted many Polaroids from my MacBook. For some reason there also got removed from my hard drive. I’m not sure why because it is an external hard drive so I would have thought that they would be safe but obviously not. I can’t get them out of the bin either and i’ll explain why. When I removed the photos at this point I didn’t realise that the correct files had moved to the bin. My hard drive still says storage is full until I remove the same files that are in the bin.
Because I didn’t know the correct files were in the bin, I then started to permanently delete the files that are in the bin. This means there are no ways to get them back. Luckily it wasn’t many images but this does mean I have to re-scan them in and then go through and touch them up again to remove dust or dirt so the final Polaroids from 2022 may take me another week to upload.

Saturday 4th October 2025

Quite a few things happened today. new content added among other things:

1.) My package arrived either my negatives and so i’ve started scanning them. I've edited them and went through them and I really like how they turned out. I will upload them tomorrow.
2.) I know I said to give me another week for the Polaroids, well I found the time to finish them all today so below are the new batch of Polaroids from 2022 that I’ve uploaded along with a few Polaroids from 2025 that I shot most recently:

You can find the page in the top navigation bar of my website. Hover over Polaroids and then click “All Polaroids”. That will take you to where you need to go. Or you can click the button below which will take you to my 2022 Polaroids.

Polaroids (2022)

Or if you would like to view all of my Polaroids and not just the ones from 2022 then you can click the button below.

Polaroids (2022 and 2025)

All of the Polaroids below are ones that I have just uploaded. They are the last batch from 2022 shot on a mix of three different cameras. The cameras I used for these photographs were the Polaroid SX-70, the Polaroid Now and the Polaroid SX-70 Sonar. I shot both B&W and Colour Film. I shot these at home, in Exeter, in Shute, in Musbury, and in Sidmouth.

I have no more content left from 2022. Everything is uploaded…

You can find the page in the top navigation bar of my website. Hover over Polaroids and then click “All Polaroids”. That will take you to where you need to go. Or you can click the button below which will take you to my 2022 Polaroids.

Polaroids (2025)

Polaroids (2022 and 2025)

All of the Polaroids below are ones that I have just uploaded. They are the last batch from 2025 shot on one camera. The camera that I used was the Polaroid Autofocus 660. The 660 is quickly becoming one of my favourite Polaroid camera to use. I shot these photographs in Seaton and in Lyme Regis.

I have no more Polaroids left to upload from 2025 for now. This is everything until I decide to shoot more Polaroids…

3.) Changes to the SSW Layout:
I’ve decided to change the layout of Site Spotlight Weekly updates. Before, the layout was newest changes right at the top and oldest changes right at the bottom. Sunday 5th October 2025

New Content Added:

1.) Another gallery has been added

This roll is for 35mm Film. The roll is Iford XP2 Super 400 (Roll 53) from 2025 that I shot around Bristol and Wells.

Included below is a button to the roll where I talk a little bit about it in more detail.
Ilford XP2 Super 400 - Olympus OM-20
You can click the button below which will take you directly to the film page where this roll along with all of my other rolls are located.

2.) You can now view the above roll in “By Camera”. You are able to click on “Olympus OM-20 (35mm)” and view the work this way. AS I’ve said in a previous SSW, “By Camera” really only acts as a place where you can filter work created by a specific camera. Great if you want to view Photographs taken with a specific SLR, or a Polaroid Camera for example.

By clicking the button below, it will take you to the Olympus OM-20 Page. It’s a little bit bare right now as i’ve only shot one roll of Film through this as of yet but over time it will feature more and more work.
