The images below were shot on the Contax RTS (roll 61).
I will speak more about my experience down below…
KODAK EKTACHROME 100
I was very excited because it was October during this roll and as I explained in the previous roll, we visited Stourhead. Stourhead is a national landmark and national park in the UK and it is really very nice this time of the year. I thought the best film stock to use for the autumn colours would be a roll of Ektachrome (along with my previous roll of Kodak Vision 3. This would be my second time shooting this specific roll of slime film and my first time shooting this specific film stock in the UK. Going into this I should have known how they would turn out in the end but a part of me is still a little disappointed. The scenery was very contrasty which isn't always the best for slide film because it has a very slim latitude over exposure. I also don't really have a reliable light meter and so I was just going off what the camera itself suggested. Looking back now, I do think that it was a very bad idea because I messed up quite a lot of frames. Some images I was able to bring back a little bit but with some others it was impossible. I took a few portraits and those were so bad there was no way I could adjust things to make them look good. However, the ones that I have included here are the ones that I really like and I am very happy with how these on here turned out. The colours are very punchy and very vibrant and I feel they show the autumn colours quite well. I think the next time I shoot slide film I will do so with a dedicated light meter. Not an app on my phone, not a vintage light meter and nor the camera’s in-built light meter. A dedicated light meter would benefit me so much and for slide film it is necessary.
