The images below were shot on the Contax RTS (roll 31).

I will speak more about my experience down below…

FOMAPAN 400

My sister Sophie and her boyfriend Dan took us on holiday to Cornwall. We didn’t know where we were heading until we arrived. Before heading to our lodging we stopped at Cardinham Woods. My nephew would go off with Dan on the cycle path and me, my mum and dad and Sophie went for a long walk. Before the trip I had purchased a Pig Iron orange filter for my Contax RTS as I planned to shoot lot’s of black and white throughout the trip, I just had to hope where we were going would have blue skies with lots of clouds. there was lots of sunshine during the holiday and I feel the orange filter added lot’s of contrast which I was happy about. After we arrived at our accommodation we decided to take a trip to St. Ives which was a beach town. It was a very colourful place but I’m not sure how well that will show with Fomapan lol.
I decided to develop almost all of my black and white films from this holiday myself but sadly, tragedy struck. My Lomography developing tank ripped the roll of film in half causing me to have to develop each part of the film separately and so I made a mistake while developing the second half causing the entire film strip to be completely transparent. It is a shame but I am really happy with the images I got. This was actually my first time shooting Fomapan. On one hand I like the film stock but on the other hand I dislike it. I’m really not sure what to think. I guess I do like it because I like these images. I would shoot Fomapan a few more times on this holiday.
As of writing this, this holiday has been over for quite some time now and I haven’t really experimented anymore with this film stock or really any Fomapan stocks in general but I think going forward I will have to shoot it again and this time, get it developed by a proper lab.
