The images below were shot on the Contax RTS (roll 20).

I will speak more about my experience down below…

KODAK COLOR PLUS 200

Let me start off this roll by saying that I have mixed feelings about these images. On one hand there are a few that stand out to me but the majority of these images, although they're okay, I just kind of really dislike them. I don't think there's anything special about this film stock, and nothing about it screams to me the I should shoot it more often. I started this roll off in Axminster, then headed to Honiton, then Shute and then finally ending the last frame in Exmouth.
I think the problem and where the majority of my hate goes towards is the location, the subjects and the weather. To me, ColorPlus shines more in sunny weather which England doesn’t really have most of the time. It shines more in bright places and if you’re photographing architecture I don’t think your film will turn out the best. I find some of the images of buildings in this really quite ugly and I think that’s because of the type of buildings I photographed.
Anything with pastel colours will render quite nicely however I have found that brownish colours or brick colours don’t look very good. For example the ones from Honiton, with the whitish light blue buildings look quite nice. The weather does help a lot too to be honest but it all kind of clicks together and you have a nice image whereas the ones from Axminster of the church don’t look nice and I think that’s because the weather wasn’t good and because of the colours of the building.
Now not all images of brick buildings will turn out bad. For example the images of the Co-Op store in Honiton came out nice. Of course the weather plays a big role once again, because I underexposed the picture of the shopping trolly outside of the same Co-Op store and the colours just aren’t there unlike the other two I mentioned. All in all, I’m not too big of a fan of these images and the film stock in general. I don’t think I’ll shoot this film stock much in the future. Maybe I will if the weather is good and I’m on holiday.
